March 2018 - Egyptian Repoussé
4th and 5th Grade
Project Title: Egyptian Repoussé
Description:
- 4th and 5th grade artists were intrigued by the artifacts found in the tombs of Egyptian rulers. One type of artifact was jewelry worn by pharaohs and queens of the past. The lotus flower, the scarab and the cobra were popular motifs in ancient Egypt. Students picked an image of their choosing to create a bas-relief of tooling foil. An Egyptian design was added as a border to complete each piece.
